Our business lunch

On 7th March we were delighted to organise a business lunch at High Leigh Conference Centre in Hoddesdon. This occasion was the first of a number of events we have planned throughout 2018.

The purpose of this conference was to enable us to present in more detail our therapeutic support model and how this model embeds and translates into practice. Additionally, the event served as an opportunity to inform our attendees about our exciting service development plans and also the forthcoming launch of our new website and logo.

We were delighted with the venue and facilities and attendees heard presentations from our Lead Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Positive Behaviour Specialist and the Home Manager of our care home in Crossbrook, Hertfordshire about the application of practice in our services. It is very apparent that having our own therapy team allows for meaningful increased input of support for each person and this shone through in the positive outcomes presented. Our Positive Behaviour Specialist discussed how an Applied Analysis (ABA) approach underpinning the PBS model is most effective in addressing challenges people present themselves and others. The Registered Manager and Team Leader from our residential service Crossbrook provided talks about their position within the home and how on a day-to-day basis they help guide the successful support to each individual living there.

Over lunch, there was an opportunity to discuss informally a wide range of topics whilst enjoying the refreshments which included some very popular chocolate cookies! We would encourage people to attend our future events, which will be advertised in the forthcoming months.

We believe that by getting to know us better and hearing how we deliver developmental support to people with complex needs, everyone will be working from a more informed perspective about Liaise and as a result more effectively utilise our expertise for the benefit of others.
