John Giyo, the deputy manager at Willow Tree Lodge, recently achieved a distinction in his Level 5 Apprenticeship in Leadership and Management in Adult Social Care through the Liaise Academy.
Returning to study was difficult, as balancing work, study, and personal commitment wasn’t always easy. Finishing the apprenticeship represented a significant milestone in John’s professional development. It reflected how much he has grown and his commitment to improve as a leader continually.
The qualification deepened his understanding of how to lead people through numerous leadership models, learnings he applied to his day-to-day role. He credits his achievement to the support of several people, but his biggest supporters were his manager and colleagues at Willow Tree Lodge. Their guidance and feedback kept him grounded and on track, especially during the challenging portions of the programme
