Autism Awareness Month at Crossbrook: Celebrating Inclusion and Creativity

This April, in recognition of Autism Awareness Month, Crossbrook Court & Cottage hosted a series of inclusive and joyful events designed to celebrate neurodiversity, promote understanding, and bring people together. Autism Awareness Month is a time when communities come together to raise awareness and encourage acceptance of autistic people and their strengths and experiences.

Tea & Art Party: Creativity and Connection

One of the highlights of the month was the Crossbrook Autism Tea & Art Party. Residents and staff proudly wore blue t-shirts to show their support and enjoyed a heartwarming afternoon full of creative expression, shared experiences, and laughter.

These activities provided an opportunity for everyone involved to connect, explore artistic talents, and celebrate each other’s uniqueness, a wonderful reflection of the spirit of Autism Awareness Month.

Baking Together: Muffins and Memories

To mark the near end of the month, the people we support at Crossbrook rolled up their sleeves in the kitchen for a fun Autism Inclusion Muffin Baking session. From measuring and mixing to enjoying the final result, the activity was a sensory-rich, hands-on way to celebrate creativity while building skills and confidence.
