When Allistair moved into Linnet, he began a new chapter in his life. With the support of a committed and caring team, he has made fantastic progress, and his achievements are celebrated every day. It has been wonderful to see him engaging in a wide variety of meaningful and enjoyable activities that have helped him build confidence, strengthen relationships, and experience new things.

Exploring New Experiences

A real highlight has been Allistair’s adventurous spirit when travelling. He successfully used the train to visit Winchester, a fantastic achievement and an important step in his growing independence. At home, he has been involved in personalising his environment and even helped with some DIY, showing pride in making his space feel like his own.

Allistair also enjoyed an exciting visit to the local fire station, where he had the unforgettable experience of sitting inside a fire engine. He could not stop laughing as he explored and pressed all the buttons. He also spent time away at a holiday cabin, including a relaxing afternoon in the hot tub, giving him a chance to unwind in a new environment.

Building Confidence and Choice

His love of horse riding continues to shine through, with sessions twice a week that clearly bring him joy and fulfilment. Out in the community, Allistair has enjoyed shopping trips to Festival Place and even tried a new barbershop for his haircut, which he handled brilliantly.

Another fantastic development has been Allistair’s willingness to try new foods, helping him positively broaden his experiences and preferences.

Throughout these activities, Allistair has built strong, trusting relationships with staff members, particularly Elsie, Chinedu, Ignatius, and Clovis. These connections have been central to his progress, offering reassurance, encouragement, and a sense of belonging.

The dedication and teamwork of the Linnet staff have been outstanding. Their consistent, person-led approach has created the right environment for Allistair to thrive, explore, and grow. We are incredibly proud of Allistair and the team for everything they have achieved together.
